Peter Chen has been one of
the principal programmers for the AVSS Project since its inception in the early
1980's. Prior to his work on AVSS, he was the lead programmer for the Maternal
and Child Health Database. He has a degree in Computer Science from UCSB and
graduated Phi Beta Kappa with high honors. Peter is married to Katrina Tinker
who is a CPA currently running her own business. Katrina's daughter, Shannon,
currently attends Cal State Los Angeles and is majoring in linguistics. Peter's
outside interests include travel, gymnastics, tennis, movies, computer games, geocaching, dancing,
piano, and R/C helicopters (www.heligator.com).

John Marinko has been one
of the principal programmers for the AVSS Project since its inception in the
early 1980's. He has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from UCSB. An avid
cyclist, John is currently the President of the Sacramento Wheelmen Bicycling
Club. Other non-computer interests include downhill skiing, classic and skating
nordic skiing, in-line skating, hiking and vegetarianism.
