AVSS Project(PMC)805-893-3214 |
Problem: Since
BPF is no longer being printed on the certificate, hospitals want alternative
methods of identifying which records are to be sent to the health department.
Here are 4 possible solutions: 1. Purchase a barcode scanner and select option B 2. Use SELECT to identify which of the remaining
unsent records are to be sent 3. Specify baby's name under INDIVIDUAL select 4. Use the #HALIST report to identify babies by
medical record number. This report provides an
alphabetic list of all unsent records within a given date range. Received: 1/02/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: PMC Outcome: PENDING |

Problem: Occasional
undefined errors are occurring at field 25B. The problem happens when the
EDIF call cannot compute a difference due an insufficient pattern check for
25A and 25AA. Solution: Improve the pattern checks for
25A and 25AA to match 1N.E to find valid dates going into the EDIF call. Received: 1/02/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: PMC Outcome: PENDING |

AVSS Project(PMC)805-893-3214 |
Problem: Occasional
undefined errors are occurring at field 25AA. The problem happens when there
is a long inter-menstrual gap, for example no intervening menses between
births. In this case, field 25B does not have a default value computed. The
check for subnode 4 then bombs out since it assumes a default value is
present. Solution: Add a $D check for
^T($J,"25B") for sub-field check node 4. Received: 1/03/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: PMC Outcome: Installed with AMR 07004. |

AVSS Project(JAM)916-449-5174 |
Problem: Ron discovered that there is a
situation where item 25B has a partial value saved. If the user initially
^Skips 25AA and 25B then edits 25AA the 25AA subfield check creates a default
value for 25B of the number of months without the suffix (i.e. 1 instead of
1ST). When the record is subsequently filed the FSHCASF1 routine removes
items from the skipped list when they have a value. We end up with a single
digit in 25B and it is no longer skipped. Solution:
Modify the 25AA subfield check to create the whole value
instead of the single digit. Received: 1/03/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: Updated CHK,5 to append the
appropriate suffix. Installed in CAD/MST on Net3. Loaded into LRD on
Net4/5/6. Done. |

Problem/Suggestion: 1.
Create an INIT node to display: ONLY ENTER A MAILING ADDRESS IF IT IS
DIFFERENT THAN THE RESIDENCE ADDRESS IN ITEMS 24A THRU 24E. before
the prompt. 2. Treat
data entry of any single alphabetic character the same as null. 3. Add a
comparison with item 24A and an ARE YOU SURE prompt if they are equal. Received: 1/03/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: Installed in CAD/MST on Net3.

Problem/Suggestion: At line
70+2^FSCBC07D when item 25B is UNKNOWN it is not being coded properly. REC 70
was being left with value UNKNOWN which is 4 characters too long. Received: 1/03/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: Modified 70+2^FSCBC07D to set
REC(RN) to "UNK". Updated on CAD and MST on Net3. Updated in LRD on

Problem/Suggestion: Ventura
County - Rosie called because she was entering a 2006 Fetal Death into AVSS
and when she tried to enter code 67 in item #35 (Abnormal Conditions and
Clinical Procedures relating to the Fetus) it would not accept it. It would
accept 75, but that is for the Birth Certificate. The
following items changed on the Fetal Death Certificate for 2006, 24C
(Father's Education),27C (Mother's Education),29D (Principal Source of
Payment for Prenatal Care), 32A (Method of Delivery), 32B (Expected Principal
Source of Payment for Delivery), 33 (Complications and Procedures of
Pregnancy), 34 (Complication and Procedures of Labor) and 35 that should be
checked for errors. Received: 1/04/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: PENDING. |

Problem/Suggestion: Per email from Alan, state/country values
specifying US-UNK should be coded to US, not XXU. The following list values
need to be updated: ^FSL("STCN",0,"UNK2") ^FSL("STCN",2007,"UNK2") ^FSL("STCNEX","US-UNK") Received: 1/08/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: PMC Outcome: PENDING |

zero is entered display: A '0'
APGAR SCORE WAS ENTERED, WHICH IS VERY UNLIKELY. IF THE
APGAR SCORE IS UNKNOWN OR UNAVAILABLE, ENTER 'UNKNOWN'. If a
subsequent zero is entered allow it. Received: 1/10/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: Also modify the LCA APGAR10 to

AVSS Project(PMC)805-893-3214 |
Problem/Suggestion: As the new foreign import data starts to come in,
minor updates are needed. 1. Race lists need to be updated to the new ones
developed for the HCA. 2. Fields 18 and 21 need to be computed properly
using the HCA SFC calls. 3. UNKNOWN needs to be processed correctly for
MWT1 and MWT2. 4. Education lists need to be updated to use the
updated ones found in HCA. 5. APGAR10 needs to be adjusted to not perform
the zero reprompt check. Received: 1/10/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: PMC Outcome: PENDING |

AVSS Project(JAM)916-449-5174 |
Problem/Suggestion: Jessica
was getting some BID writeout checks indicating that race AMERICAN was coding
to 30 instead of 10. I checked the 2007 list and found that to be the case.
Glen should go through the 2007 race list on AVSS and compare the values and
race codes with the appropriate CBC appendix. (I did the fix for AMERICAN on
AVSSNET and at the state.) Received: 1/10/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: Jessica and I went through the
list and did not find any further discrepancies. |

Problem/Suggestion: Done at line 99 in FSCBC07E. Box B is numeric for
CA counties or US States otherwise it holds the MARC code. Line 99 says that
if B is not 3 numbers to code it to '9999' resulting in a length error. Received: 1/12/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: PMC Outcome: Updated on CAD and MST on Net3.

Problem/Suggestion: Emily
found that there are some records with decimal points in the mother's weight.
Modify MWT1 and MWT2 to only accept whole numbers. Modify FSCBC07E to account
for decimal points and 2 digit weights which are currently being converted to
999. Received: 1/12/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: Updated on CAD and MST on Net3.

Problem/Suggestion: Alan
reports that some users (especially Asian) often don't know their
pre-pregnancy weight in pounds. So allow a K added to the end of the weight
to cause AVSS to convert to pounds. We may also add a warning message for
weight entries under 100 pounds as well. Received: 1/12/07 Evaluation: AVSS Programmer: JAM Outcome: PENDING |
