AVSS/NET Port 22 Requirements

AVSS/NET requires unfiltered, unproxied bidirectional TCP/IP connectivity on Port 22 to 128.111.147.200 as well as ability to perform forward and reverse DNS lookups.

To test for Port 22 being open, click on Start on your Win2000 or XP desktop, then on Run and type:
telnet lrd.avss.ucsb.edu 22
If Port 22 is open, you will see a line containing SSH. If not, you will get a 'no connect' message.

You may check the proxy connectivity requirement by attempting to connect to the URL below. This will also allow you to measure the speed of your Internet connection.
